Moses, the Holy Prophet of Jazz

• Moses is as uncompromising as his biblical namesake, but with a better taste in religion. Whereas in the the first books of the Judaeo-Christian holy texts Moses firmly believes in the awesome power of God and the perverse destructive force that is Satan, today's frankly more realistic Moses has a better grasp on what makes the world turn. Ever wondered why cheese smells so much? It is because it is gone off milk! Why does yoghurt leave a sour taste behind? Because it is sour milk! What does it feel like to put your hand in a bowl of cottage cheese? Gross! These are the weapons of evil: the awful taste and smell of old dairy produce. To combat the threat posed by these atrocities Moses employs the other senses: the sound of sweet music and the aesthetic qualities of a stage uncluttered by surplus "musicians" - no stage needs more than three people on it for the duration of a gig. If there needs to be others, let them be session players who leave when their piece is over.

The Prophet Elijah

• The Prophet Elijah is a firm devotee of the cause of Jazz. Influenced by such greats as Herbie Hancock, Donald Fagen and Django Reinhardt, Prophet E. has a feel for the melody of music and the harmony of the heart. More recently Mr Elijah has been introduced to the likes of Portishead and Massive Attack with their bass driven melancholy and firm punchy overdubs. Recently Mr Elijah went into a shop with intent to purchase a drum machine for further liberation from the constrains of impure interpretation of the doctrine of the Church. To find out if he got it, you will have to catch them live sometime.

St Benjamin the Disciple

St Ben has been a mainstay of the local music scene for more years now than he cares to remember; first producing The Usual, and then recording many of the now legendary Happytown tapes he has seen it all, done it all, got it down on tape. At the first Aliens Exist recording session, which produced the much sought-after Sonic Muscle ep, who was at the four track and mixer? St Ben of course. He is not only known for his skill in the studio though - he has been playing live with everything from orchestras to rock groups since 1984 and has the sort of experience many musicians would kill for. As a consummate clarinetist and a classically trained pianist he has the background, but he is more famed for his improvisational works, in which he can turn a straightforward backbeat into a melodic work of art. St Ben is also the sole proprietor of Silversound Studios and SSL Hire.
