Finding Out the Orders Raised for a Part
To find this out requires either MM or Promis, depending on exactly what it is
you want to know. If you want to know all the open orders for a part
then you can use either MM or Promis. To use MM you need to enter the REVIEWISSREC
screen.
If you need to know all the orders that have ever been placed for a part then
you must use Promis, which keeps records of deliveries. The screen you need is
POMAINT
which is, as you can see,
option 9 on the first Purchasing Menu.
From within POMAINT
, press F1 to get PART REVIEW
and then you have a choice of how you want the orders to be sorted.
- If you want the orders sorted by order number then press F1. This
will list order numbers from the highest (usually the most recent) to the
lowest. A side effect is that tooling and non-inventory orders will be
listed before others because they usually start with the number C688,
whereas inventory orders (Purchase Orders) start C683 or C684.
- If you want the orders arranged according to the delivery dates,
then press F2. This will list all the orders for that part with the most
recently delivered parts first and the oldest deliveries last. This is
usually the more useful option, as it is more realistically chronological;
a tooling order raised last year will, using the first option, still appear
before an order raised last week for inventory parts.
