Inside the Asylum

Inside the Asylum, you find the complex nerve centre of the Holy Church of Jazz (Foundation). The floor is a an office-standard green, with a desk, three telephones, a desktop PC, a laptop a filing cabinet and a wall of photos. To one side there is a repair area where the duo repair equipment and manufacture new devices on a battered wooden desk.

Atop the old deep brown desk sits a an old fibreglass tray which apears to be covered in flux. There is an old yellow soldering iron in a stand, a glass of water, some heatshrink, solder and flux in a broken old tub. Various bits and bobs lie around, like phono leads, screened wire, jack-jack leads and so on. Many more appear to be either already or about to be butchered for new projects. Also on this desk is a sadly no longer state of the art tape machine, connected up (via an amp) to a couple of little speakers either side ofwork area. Presumably this is for musical relief during a marathon lead constructing session!

The wall of photos appears to be of various people, along with a large amount of photos of music equipment. You can make out quite a few different devices, such as

And some more anonymous looking black, purple and red things which you can't quite make out. No one is here but the big PC is on, displaying some psychedelic looking background. Unfortunately for you there is a lock on the PC so you can't nick its RAM, but nevermind. You console yourself with a prod at the keyboard. Unfortunately it is not running an OS you recognise, so you are pretty stuffed really. And, to top it off it appears to be alarmed.

On the desk is a box of tapes. They all say the same thing: "Cuban Beat Crisis" and each has a track listing on the back. You recognise some of the names from somewhere before; they all have strange geometrical names. You stick one in the player, and it immediately starts playing a sample (of 200K, 1.15sec).
