Finding Out Who Sells Us a Part

This task is necessary if you don't know who makes a part but need to speak to someone the company that does make it. This could be because you want to confirm an order with them or make other enquiries. The information is stored on the system and accesible through Promis.

You could go to the lengths of making a dummy order and seeing which vendors are offered as choices, or you could use the more elegant solution of actually specifically requesting that information.

From the first Promis Purchasing Menu go for option 1, PSPEC - Purchasing. Once in PSPEC press 5 for

VENDORS (BY 
PART #)

and then just enter the part number the vendor for which you want to know. The display will tell you both the vendor code and the vendor's full name.
