Changing Controller in Promis

In Promis you often need to be logged in as a particular controller to change details about that controller's parts. For example, if you are logged in as Controller 13 and try to change the lead-time of a Controller 21 part, the the system will not allow it. In this instance, you must log on as a different user.

Many of the applications within Promis (e.g. POGO, POMAINT and others) ask you when you exit them whether you would like to ENTER AS A DIFFERENT USER, which means you can reenter the program having put in a different controller's user name and password. You will then be able to adjust details of that controller's parts.

Some programs (e.g. PSPEC) don't offer this method of changing controller, so you will have to use one of the ones that do. Step by step this means:

  1. Entering POGO (or POMAINT etc)
  2. Exiting the same program (usually pressing F8)
  3. Pressing Y to enter new passwords
  4. Entering the new details
  5. Pressing F8 again to quit
  6. Pressing N to actually quit this time
  7. Entering the new application
